Each time when it comes to back to school shopping, shoe buying is one of the tasks that is listed in our “To Do List”. I usually bring my kids along for this purpose as I needed to ensure that the shoes are a good fit for them. I did not want the hassle of returning to the shop to do an exchange if they did not fit well, so that was the best route to take. My kids on the other hand, hated going shoe shopping and dreaded answering my questions which included “Is there space for you to move your little toes?”, “Are you sure you can walk comfortably?” and “Do you feel any pain walking in those?”.
The fact is, I don’t really have any knowledge on how to measure my children’s feet for the best fit. So, it is more of a guessing game as long as they can wriggle their toes and walk comfortably. The sales staff at the store where I usually buy my kids’ shoes are not much help either. I can’t blame them as I doubt that they are trained to do that.
A friend recently introduced me to a video by Start-rite shoes which shows you a step by step guide of how to measure a child’s feet using the Click ‘n’ Fit. The best part is, you can do this from the comfort of your home. With this tool, you can find the correct shoe size for your child and then purchase the shoes online from Start-rite. How cool is that? No more rushing out to the store.

For the benefit of all mommy readers, I have embedded the video here for your viewing pleasure. Kudos to Start-rite for making it available to us.
