When a camping holiday is suggested, most kids will be enthusiastic, but then comes the dawning realisation that camping means leaving the Xbox at home. How, you wonder, are you going to keep them happy for a week with no high tech entertainment?
Well, first of all make the most of your natural surroundings. Are you by the sea? If so, it is well worth investing in camping accessories such as wet suits for the kids. Unless you are lucky enough to hit a heat wave the sea in the UK can be pretty chilly, even in the summer. With wet suits on, kids can spend hours having fun without you worrying about them turning blue. A cheap crabbing line and bucket will also provide amusement. If you are near a river or lake, what about introducing your family to the joys of fishing? Again, there’s no need to go overboard (you’ll already have spent too much on camping equipment before leaving home!) as tackle can be bought cheaply and permits are usually available on a daily basis.
Make the most of being away from big cities by star gazing. You will be amazed at just how much you can see without the light pollution which most of us are used to. A portable telescope can make it even more rewarding. Shadow puppets are another good night-time activity. Just use a torch and the side of the tent. If you are allowed to build a campfire, it is great fun toasting marshmallows on it and telling ghost stories. Don’t make them too scary though or else you could be up half the night sorting out nightmares!
Scavenger hunts are easy to organise. Just give each child a list of items that are not too hard to find e.g. an acorn, a feather, something yellow.
For rainy days pack some board games, cards and craft items or see what the local area has in terms of leisure centres and museums.

Sliding, skating, skiing, too, There are lots of things to do! So, performing this song we went with my son to the skating rink last weekend. He had head out on the ice and firstly hold my hand while we slowly skate around the rink but then tried to do it without any help and he got it. Ice skating is very popular sport and my 7 years old son liked to learn this new for him kind of sport very much!
After all it’s very fun stuff to do outside on a hot day, isn’t it??

I wrote already about my little, 5 years old son who has dramatically loved ‘Spider-Sense’ things though it were games, toys, school tackles or clothes and boots – all must be market with his favorite hero’s name – Spiderman. I guess he collects them and there is nothing I can do but to buy it. I don’t thing his passion is bad, by no means but sometimes… Sometimes I can’t be particularly enthusiastic about that having to make certain efforts to find out what he exactly wants.

However, winter is wonderful time of jolly holidays, festive occasion, indoor plays and outdoor activities. You can say what you want but for little feet kids wellies is best solution for both practical and fun to wear during this miracle but at the same time cold and wet season. Usually I feel myself lucky when I find a regular Spiderman’s things for my little boy like boys shoes, toys, books etc then I just can’t describe his endless delight and happiness when he gets desired gift. Finally we are happy all together, including Spiderman:-)
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all of you!

Kids and different type of activities is the thing always actual. You like it or not but you must!-) As to me I try to find the ways the most fun and educational as far as possible. Reading, crafts, printable worksheets, coloring pages, puzzles, watching movies is great way to make your kids busy of course, but outdoor activities is also must be included in everyday kid’s life.
So, what to do in winter in a city where you can’t enjoy with usual winter activities because of worm weather. How to spend the weekend? The most outdoor game we like is football! Then you can be convinced of that just look at these photos.

I guess each of us have ever noticed that listening a favorite music makes feel better. We teach our kids to sing and listen music and they have their own preferences on the way. Besides that don’t you know that this music can make you smarter too? The point is to choose the right music.

Don Campbell wrote wonderful book called “Mozart Effect” then looking through this book you will know a lot of interesting things including the beneficial effects of certain types of music.
Some of the benefits are:
Improves test scores
Cuts learning time
Calms hyperactive children and adults
Reduces errors
Improves creativity and clarity
Heals the body faster
Integrates both sides of the brain for more efficient learning
Raises IQ scores 9 points (research done at University of California, Irvine)
It’s really very cognitive and helpful reading not only for parents.
No doubt, music, as a cultural artifact, has a very positive influence on the emotions. And what else you know exactly, that is when we play or sing with our kids together we learn to hear each other and that is also very important. Competing behavior includes also visiting concerns, musical performances and festivals. Since almost everyone has now computer and internet access we have great opportunity to find and buy any needed tickets, though it were concerts, sports, arts, theater, Reading Festival Tickets or just family events thickets. By the way, for all those parents who prefer such kind of music as major rock, indie or alternative acts Festival Tickets are available online now. Anyway check out detailed Reading Festival Information for choosing the most acceptable show for both you and your children visiting. Children under 13 (12 and under) are admitted free but must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult of course.
