Nov
No Comments   Posted by |  Category:Health, Kids and Parents, Outdoors

There are many areas in the world where winter brings heavy snowfall and very cold temperatures. You know that sometimes heavy snow can block roads and cause power lines to fall down. We should be prepared to the cold temperatures and of course our kids must be dressed correctly.

Here is some important things you have to care about from fema.gov.

Freezing rain: Rain that freezes when it hits the ground, creating a coating of ice on roads and walkways.

Sleet: Rain that turns to ice pellets before reaching the ground. Sleet also causes roads to freeze and become slippery.

Winter Weather Advisory: Cold, ice and snow are expected.

Winter Storm Watch: Severe weather such as heavy snow or ice is possible in the next day or two.

Winter Storm Warning: Severe winter conditions have begun or will begin very soon.

Blizzard Warning: Heavy snow and strong winds will produce a blinding snow, near zero visibility, deep drifts and life-threatening wind chill.

Frost/Freeze Warning: Below freezing temperatures are expected.

Since July 4, 1776, when members of the Second Continental Congress, meeting in Philadelphia, adopted the final draft of the Declaration of Independence, America celebrates July 4 as Independence Day.

Obviously your holiday celebration day will be full of exciting plans and activities. Just don’t forget to keep your July 4th celebrations fun and safe with

1.Making sure fireworks are legal in your town. Seriously, if it’s not legal…and especially if your kid’s old enough to know it’s not legal…don’t use them.
2.Always have water nearby (a bucket or hose) for emergencies.
3.Don’t let kids light fireworks. Just don’t.
4.Teach your kids not to pick up fireworks on the ground. They could still be hot or “duds.” Tell them to get an adult to check it out.
Remind children not to play with matches.
Make it even easier — just go check out a professional fireworks show near you. No mess, no clean up, no worries.

For more information, check out the National Council on Fireworks Safety.

What is diving? Is it sport or entertainment, just one of the possibilities to spend holyday’s time? I’m asking because I see how everyone is up now with the diving. Britannica says that this is sport. Saying frankly I had no doubt of that, diving was included in the official program of the Summer Olympic Games at the 1904 yet. But today we can see how diving has become one of the most popular activities during vacations for all family including children.

Real divers are not only truly enjoyed and love the underwater world but they have years of technical diving experience and technical expertise. And if you are going be tempted to become diver (great idea!) please don’t forget that there are few limits to diving. First of all you must be in a reasonable physical shape. Actually every healthy person is in principle fit for diving but there are certain rules which must be respected and a certificate documenting training is necessary to rent equipment. You should consult their doctor before taking up diving. Some diseases, such as asthma, heart diseases, diabetes (especially insulin dependent) and epilepsies are not compatible with diving. And be ready to sped all your free time diving and the rest with preparation for it :-) Diving is a style of life.
